Let's talk Maine

The East Coast officially has a piece of my heart. Maine, you were an unexpected treat—and I can’t wait to go back! Portland, Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, Freeport, and Boston each offer unique, exciting, and unforgettable experiences. Whether you prefer staying in a luxurious hotel or glamping in the woods, each destination wants to provide you with a new adventure.
I’ve recently been exploring new travel destinations, and Maine keeps coming to mind as a place I NEED to visit again. It was truly an incredible experience from beginning to end. Driving around Maine might already sound cool on its own, but doing it in a convertible might just make it the best road trip you could go on. If you're considering a trip along the East Coast, I strongly suggest doing it in style. Getting to see not only the lively downtown areas with no distractions, but also the beautifully lush, scenic drives between, is a must. Sure, the smell near the water can be a little strong at times, but that’s nothing a quick roll-up of the top can’t fix.
One of the most enjoyable parts of this trip was all the boat rides we took in different parts of Maine. The seas of Portland, Bar Harbor, and Boston got to see my family on the water. We had the opportunity to sail on vintage boats, enjoy cruises on windjammer schooner sails, and take taxi boats from downtown Boston to our hotel. Learning about the culture and history while looking out over the town made each experience even more enjoyable and intriguing. I was fortunate enough to get to go with my parents on this adventure, and am glad that I did! But, I honestly believe Maine could be just as rewarding as a solo trip as it is for a group.
In the end, Maine has so much to offer to anyone who enjoys history, the water, national parks, or just down right some good food.
Below, you will find some of my favorite recommendations and outfits that are perfect for the weather in Maine in August!

Traveling around
Walking – Every part of Main I was able to go to had a walkable town to it. Some were bigger than others, but all of them felt safe and exciting. Whether you were looking for something to eat, buy, or experience, the town allowed you to walk to it.
Driving – I’d recommend driving to your main destination, but then parking and walking the rest of the way once you get there. It’s the best way to really take in the town. We got to rent a convertible for the trip, and if there is ONE time you need your car top off IT IS TRAVELING MAINE. The amount of sites to see while driving from town to town, and the crisp air you feel in new areas is something you have to experience.
Boats – Most places we went on this trip had an option to travel by boat within the towns or cities. I highly recommend this if you're someone who loves the water, or who enjoys scenery on their way to new places! We went on boat rides in Bar Harbor, Boston, and Portland, and each one was so unique to its area. Both luxury and history options can be provided to you based on your preference!
